Financial Technologies Forum is currently planning for our 3rd Cloud Computing on Wall Street Breakfast Briefing, which will take place in NYC this coming February. As with each of our events, the planning process begins with research by scouring industry articles to see who is talking about what. This way, we can ensure that our agenda will include timely and relevant topics that are important to the financial services industry.
If you have attended an FTF event in the past, you know that on top of relevance and timeliness we also strive each year to add something new to the agenda that was not covered the year before. For our upcoming Cloud Computing briefing, however, it is proving more difficult than usual. While we are still in the process of doing research on this topic, it seems other than data security, cloud computing is the same old story. While compliance, speed, IT concerns and demand are all still important topics that should be addressed, nothing significantly new is being discussed. So I ask you, financial services professionals, what are your thoughts on what lies ahead for cloud computing? Will any significant changes be occurring for those who work within the cloud, use the cloud or want to use the cloud?
I’m sure before our research stage ends we will find the wow factor for our agenda, but we would love some input from those who work with the cloud every day, so let us know what you think.
