We here at FTF wanted to bring back our Fun Friday Food Review blogs! So for all you foodies out there in the NYC area, there’s a new burger joint in town that is definitely worth a visit! Yesterday, in honor of our very own Sarah Hathaway’s birthday, the FTF team went on an adventure to try one of our neighborhood’s biggest hotspots: Shake Shack. The chain has been around for a few years now but has recently opened in the Financial District. Shake Shack was established by Danny Meyer, one of NYC’s most famous restaurateurs, also the owner of Union Square Café and Terrace 5 at the MoMa.
Although the trip was a bit of a trek (due to major tourist sidewalk congestion), the meal was certainly worth it! The line moved quickly and our meal was ready in less than five minutes. We all got burgers and agreed that the “Shack Burger” was definitely the best. This delectable cheeseburger comes with lettuce, tomatoes and the Shack’s secret sauce. I learned that their buns are steamed and then toasted, rendering an irresistible melt-in-your-mouth burger. Another thing we all agreed on was that the burger itself was just the right size, as we all finished our burgers in record time. Oh yeah, and their fries are crisped to perfection. If you’re a cheese person, I’d definitely try their cheese fries, too!
If you’re looking for a quick, affordable and delicious meal with friends or colleagues, Shake Shack is definitely the place to go!
