FTF opens the nomination process for the pioneering awards ceremony.
Financial Technologies Forum, LLC (FTF) is opening the nomination process today, Jan. 6, for the sixth annual FTF News Technology Innovation Awards, a pioneering awards ceremony in which industry participants recognize their peers for outstanding achievement in optimal operations.
The FTF News Technology Innovation Awards for 2016 allows industry participants to recognize the important contributions of their peers. The purpose of these awards is to honor the professionals, financial technology vendors, service providers, industry bodies and regulators that have made significant strides and noteworthy achievements in operational excellence during 2015.
In particular, FTF News Technology Innovation Awards will celebrate the Service Provider of the Year, the Ops Business Person of the Year, the FinTech Person of the Year and the Editor’s Choice Award for Operational Excellence.
The Ops Business Person of the Year honors an executive-level individual who has advanced the cause of financial technology innovation from the business side of the aisle. The winner of this award can be from a solution provider, an end-user firm or related consultancy committed to improving operations for financial services firms.
The FinTech Person of the Year award recognizes a behind-the-scenes individual who is highly effective in advancing a financial technology issue that is having a major positive impact upon the industry. The person to be honored has devoted much time and effort toward proliferating a new standard, a key technology initiative, a regulatory-related project or a technology breakthrough that benefits the industry.
The Editor’s choice award is decided by the FTF News editor and a panel of judges, but FTF News readers can nominate a provider, industry group, end-user financial services firm, user group or individual that has embarked upon a successful financial IT project or industry initiative that has advanced operational efficiency and governance. The editor and the judges will pick the top nominees and then the ultimate winner.
The first step is for industry participants to put forth nominees in 26 categories, which they can do until Feb. 5, when nominations close. The list of nominees will be announced on Feb. 22, which also marks the start of the voting process. The voting process will close on March 21 and winners will be announced on April 18.
“Awards season is something we look forward to every year,” says Maureen Lowe, president and founder of FTF. “It’s fun to see all the companies that participate and watch all the votes come in, not to mention the gala celebration where we pull out all the stops. It’s nice to focus our attention on something positive and reward industry participants for all their hard work and contributions to the industry.”
