Financial Technologies Forum (FTF), now in its tenth year, capped its 2016 FTF News Technology Innovation Awards competition with a gala event Tuesday, May 17, at The Lighthouse, a waterfront venue that is part of Chelsea Piers in New York City.
FTF officials can confirm that the rumors of dancing and full enjoyment by participants are true. “There was even an open bar all night,” one industry source confirms.
At the event, FTF formally presented the winners in attendance with their awards and the event
co-hosts, Maureen Lowe, FTF president, and Jed Hamilton, managing director, North America, for the Aspectus public relations firm, noted that there was a record-breaking response with approximately 28,000 votes cast for 25 awards categories. FTF News readers and certified securities industry professionals select the nominees and ultimate winners by
casting their votes via an online system. (The Editor’s Choice Award is decided by the FTF News editorial staff.)
Among those in attendance was Philippe Chambadal, former CEO and now president of SmartStream, who won the FinTech Person of the Year honor. SmartStream’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) also won for Best New Post-Trade Solution for the Buy-Side, and as the Service Provider of the Year.
In addition, we have a photo gallery from the event that gives the spotlight to the winning teams for SimCorp, Nomura Research Institute (NRI), Eagle Investment Systems (part of BNY Mellon), Gresham Computing, OpenLink, SS&C — Advent, RIMES, Electra, Markit — Information Mosaic & KY3P, Numerix, Sapient, FolioDynamix, Smartstream and DTCC — Omgeo Protocoll.
