SS&C Technologies, a provider of fintech software and software-enabled services, reports the creation of a new business unit focused on the private capital market, and the appointment of Bob Shepro as senior vice president, responsible for heading the new unit.
The appointment reunites Shepro with SS&C, “where he previously headed product strategy in the late 1990’s after SS&C’s acquisition of his company Shepro Braun Systems and its flagship product Total Return,” according to an SS&C statement.
“Most recently, Mr. Shepro was a managing partner of the consultancy Windward Advisory Group,” SS&C officials add. “In his new role leading the private capital business unit he will report to Rahul Kanwar, senior vice president and global head of alternative assets.”
SS&C’s new private capital business unit will “focus on supporting family offices, foundations and endowments,” according to the vendor’s statement. The business will “offer customized solutions, addressing the specific needs of this market across the globe.”
SS&C is “committed to addressing a gap in the private capital market,” Bill Stone, SS&C Technologies’ chairman and CEO, says in a prepared statement, which also highlights the “core of SS&C’s cloud-based solution, which can be applied to the private capital market, [and] includes data aggregation, integrated investment, financial, partnership and trust accounting, cash management, performance and risk management, tax reporting and automated workflow management.”
