Orc, a specialist in electronic trading technology for listed derivatives, reports that China’s Orient Securities Co. Ltd. has picked Orc’s Trading Bricks platform for its options market making operations on the Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE).
Trading Bricks “will support Orient Securities’ expanding market making operations in China,” Orc says in a statement, which notes also that Orient Securities “intends to engage across multiple markets as new products launch.”
Trading Bricks “addresses the present and future challenges of making markets in listed derivatives,” Orc says. “It features an ultra-low latency, server based trading engine for advanced quoting and hedging, and superior trading performance. Firms can manage low-latency quoting strategies across multiple markets from a single interface.”
“It is extremely important for us to expand our options market making business, and we have strong confidence in Orc’s Asia leading position and solid experience in the options market making space,” Al Ling, general manager of the Orient Securities financial derivatives business, says in the statement. “By deploying Orc’s system, we expect to enhance our trade efficiency on options market making.”
Orc, owned by Orc Group Holding AB, which in turn is majority-owned by Nordic Capital Fund VII, tallies 200 customers in more than 30 countries, and has access to more than 150 trading venues.
