Stoxx Ltd., a provider of index offerings, reports that it has expanded its presence in Asia/Pacific via the launch of a new office in Sydney, Australia, to be headed by Jonathan Morgan who has been appointed a Stoxx regional director.
Morgan, who will oversee operations in Australia and New Zealand, has more than 15 years of experience in the Australian financial industry, and joins Stoxx from S&P Dow Jones Indices (SPDJI), officials say. At SPDJI, he was responsible for channel management across all client groups.
Before joining SPDJI, Morgan held various positions at the Australian Securities Exchange, officials say. In his new role, Morgan will report to Shirley Low, head of Asia/Pacific for STOXX.
“Australia and New Zealand are markets of great importance to our growth strategy. The Sydney office brings us closer to our local clients in these markets and will help us service them more effectively,” says Hartmut Graf, CEO of STOXX in a prepared statement.
The new STOXX office is located at: 44 Market St., Sydney NSW 2000, officials say.
Stoxx provides an index family of more than 7,000 strictly rules-based and transparent indices, officials say. The company is known for the European equity indices Euro Stoxx 50, Stoxx Europe 50 and Stoxx Europe 600, Stoxx Ltd. maintains and calculates the Stoxx Global index family which consists of indices for the regions Americas, Europe, Asia/Pacific and sub-regions Latin America and BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
In addition, Stoxx is the marketing agent for the indices of Deutsche Boerse AG and SIX Financial Information, including the DAX and the SMI indices. Stoxx is part of Deutsche Boerse AG and SIX Financial.
