BNY Mellon has hired Kathleen Scott from Citigroup to head a “newly created role to lead the corporate and insurance activities within [the bank’s] Corporate Trust business in the U.S.,” according to a company statement.
In her new role, Scott will be responsible for all aspects of sales, business development and client relations at the new business, officials say. She will report to Richard P. Stanley, BNY Mellon executive vice president and head of the U.S. region for corporate trust.
“Kathleen is well positioned to help BNY Mellon clients find broad solutions to the challenges they face, as her background combines technical capabilities, treasury services, and issuer services, in addition to experience specific to the corporate trust business,” says Stanley, in a statement. “Kathleen has demonstrated strong leadership skills in leading the growth of corporate trust operations globally, and I am confident her experience and expertise will be a significant asset to BNY Mellon as we continue to grow our business in the U.S.”
Before joining BNY Mellon, Scott was global head of the issuer services specialized agency at Citigroup. She has previously held a number of other senior management positions at Citigroup.
