The auditing and professional services giant has settled allegations that it was in violation of SEC rules governing an auditor’s independence.
The SEC reports that Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC, aka Deloitte Japan, will be censured and pay $2 million to settle charges that it issued audit reports for an audit client while several employees “maintained bank accounts with the client’s subsidiary,” in violation of SEC audit independence rules.
