ConvergEx Group, which offers brokerage and trading-related services, has named Scott McLaughlin, the former head of equities and co-CEO for Lazard Capital Markets (LCM), to be managing director, global head of sales, officials says.
In addition, Eric Soderberg, who has worked for Macgregor, ClariFI, NYFIX, Trepp and BondDesk Group, has been chosen as the next managing director, chief marketing officer for ConvergEx Group.
McLaughlin will lead sales globally for all of ConvergEx’s equity execution solutions, including electronic and high-touch, portfolio execution, outsourced connectivity and alternative trading systems (ATSs), officials say.
Formed in 2005, LCM provides research, sales and trading, and underwriting in the areas of equity, fixed income and convertible securities, say LCM officials.
McLaughlin has overseen sales, trading and research efforts for several other Wall Street firms, including senior sales management and head of equities roles at W.R. Hambrecht & Co., Citigroup Global Markets and J.P. Morgan H&Q.
At ConvergEx Group, Soderberg will oversee global marketing and communications for many businesses, including equity execution solutions, options technologies, commission management and prime services, officials say. Soderberg has 20 years of experience with financial technology companies.
ConvergEx Group, headquartered in New York, has other offices in London, Chicago, San Francisco, Boston and Atlanta.
