SunGard Financial Systems Hires Marianne Brown as COO
SunGard has cleared up the mystery over the next move for Marianne Brown, who is stepping down from her post as president and CEO of Omgeo. Brown will become the next chief operating officer (COO) of SunGard’s Financial Systems business on Feb. 24, officials say.
“Part of the reason why I joined Omgeo seven years ago was because of the firm’s limitless potential to transform middle office operations,” Brown says. “Since that time, and with our community’s support, solutions like Omgeo CTM and Omgeo ALERT have become industry best practice in post-trade operations around the globe,” Brown said in an exclusive interview with FTF News.
“I’ve greatly enjoyed being a part of this transformation in the middle office, working closely with our clients, partners and associates, and bringing increased efficiencies and reduced risk to the markets,” Brown added.
Brown serves as a senior advisor to the international women’s development and microfinance organization, Pro Mujer, as well as an advisor to the NYC Investment Funds IT Sector Group, officials say. She is president of the board of directors for CAREERS for People with Disabilities and a member of The Economic Club of New York and The Women’s Forum, Inc.
ISITC’s New Chair from T. Rowe Price
Industry trade group ISITC has named Jeffrey T. Zoller as the next chair of the organization for a two-year tenure, officials say. A vice president at T. Rowe Price, Zoller has been a member of ISITC since 2005 and has served on the ISITC North America board of directors for six years.
Zoller will take over from Jan E. Snitzer, who completed her two-year term as chair last year as head of the group focused on standards in transaction processing and related communications, officials say.
During her remarks at the ISITC forum last year, Snitzer, a vice president at Loomis, Sayles & Co., recapped ISITC’s participation in several recent industry efforts: the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) push, FATCA and other domestic and global taxation issues related to trading transactions, over-the-counter derivative instruments, best practices for securities collateralization, and tri-party repos. Snitzer will continue as part of the ISITC executive board.
Zoller has served most recently as second vice chair of the board and executive sponsor of the investment manager forum, officials say. Zoller was also a member of the steering committee for SIFMA’s Asset Managers Forum from 2010 to 2013.
As chair, Zoller will act as president and CEO of ISITC, preside over board meetings and supervise and control ISITC’s affairs and act on behalf of ISITC contracts and other documents, officials say.
Zoller will address ISITC members at the 20th Annual Industry Forum and Vendor Show, scheduled for March 23-26, 2014 in Boston.
Fenergo Launches North American office in Boston
Fenergo, a provider of onboarding and client solutions, has launched its first North American headquarters and appointed Stan De Schepper as senior vice president for the region, officials say.
The move, following a $5.5 million funding announcement in October, will target a growing client base in North America, officials say. De Schepper will open a new office in Boston. The company also plans to open a new sales office in New York over the coming weeks.
De Schepper will oversee Fenergo’s business with financial institutions in the US and Canada and will serve the growing number of clients in the region. The company has also announced the opening of a new office in Boston, MA,
De Schepper initially joined Fenergo earlier this year in the capacity of non-executive director, officials say. With 15 years’ experience in financial technology, De Schepper has developed state-of-the-art software solutions for global Tier 1 financial institutions as chief architect for Norkom Technologies, a provider of financial crime and compliance solutions for financial institutions, prior to its acquisition by BAE Systems in 2011.
During his time with Norkom, De Schepper played a pivotal role in scaling the company to more than 400 employees across four continents officials say. He joined Norkom from Data4S, a company he co-founded in 2000, which was acquired by Norkom in 2004.
