Stanley Young Serves as Strategic Advisor to Kensho
Stanley Young, the former CEO of Bloomberg’s Enterprise Products and Solutions, is now a senior strategic advisor to Kensho, a maker of analytics software for capital markets, says a company official.The Cambridge, Mass.-based vendor develops products based on parallelized algorithms and machine learning. Young will be helping Kensho with corporate development, strategy, partnerships, and vision, officials say.
Before Bloomberg, Young served as CEO of NYSE Technologies, a branch of NYSE Euronext that offered an array of transaction technologies, officials say. IntercontinentalExchange Group (ICE), which acquired NYSE Euronext last month, is selling key components of NYSE Technologies.
Prior to NYSE Technologies, Young held several positions at Hewlett-Packard, including the post of worldwide director of financial markets technology. He also worked at Capco, Accenture and Anderson Consulting. He started his career at the London Stock Exchange in 1987.
Global Trading Systems Hires from Pivot Solutions
Global Trading Systems (GTS), a trading technology provider and market-maker in US equities, ETFs, commodities, financial futures, and US cash Treasuries/rates products, has hired Steven Reich as head of FX and commodities liquidity solutions, say GTS officials.
Before joining GTS, Reich was chief revenue officer and head of sales and business development for Pivot Solutions, officials say. As member of the Pivot executive team, Reich led the firm’s restructuring and its acquisition by CME Group. After the sale to CME Group, Reich ran FX clearing.
Before his time at Pivot Solutions, Reich was CEO of FX Bridge, a provider of FX, CFD and FX options platforms. He also was co-founder and chief operating officer of Hotspot FX, an online trading platform that he helped conceive, build and expand. He led the company’s acquisition by Knight Capital Group for $90 million in 2008.
Cantor Fitzgerald Canada Adds 3 from Stifel Nicolaus
Cantor Fitzgerald Canada, part of interdealer broker Cantor Fitzgerald, has hired three traders from Stifel Nicolaus Canada, officials say.
Cantor has appointed Brennan Howard and Gabe Vinizki as managing directors and named Kristofer Fisher to the post of vice president, officials say. The trio will be based in Toronto and will report to Laurence Rose, president and CEO of Cantor Fitzgerald Canada.
At Stifel Nicolaus Canada, Howard served as managing director of institutional equity sales and trading. He previously held positions at Raymond James Ltd., Jennings Capital and Galileo Equity Management.
Vinizki, who served as managing director of institutional equity sales at Stifel Nicolaus Canada, was focused on research sales in Toronto and Vancouver. He also held senior positions at Desjardins Securities Inc. and United Financial Group.
Fisher was vice president of sales trading at Stifel Nicolaus Canada, overseeing institutional agency sales trading, officials say. Before that, he worked at Wellington West Capital and D&D Securities.
