Guggenheim Securities, the investment banking and capital markets division of Guggenheim Partners, has hired Alexander Rohan, chartered financial analyst, from investment bank Jefferies & Co. to be a managing director in the restructuring advisory group that Guggenheim wishes to expand, officials say.
Rohan joins Guggenheim Securities after spending more than six years at Jefferies & Co. where he most recently served as a managing director in the recapitalization and restructuring Group, officials say.
“Alex has extensive experience advising companies and creditor groups in all aspects of restructuring and recapitalization situations,” says Mark Van Lith, head of investment banking at Guggenheim Securities, in a prepared statement. “Alex has a long track record of success advising clients in complex matters, and he will be a strong addition to our team as we continue to expand in the marketplace.”
Rohan has more than two decades of financial, legal and accounting advisory experience, officials say. He began his career as an auditor with Ernst & Young and went on to become an attorney in the bankruptcy and corporate reorganizations group at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP.
Rohan subsequently spent over six years at Genworth Financial and GE Asset Management, where he held senior legal and business roles focused on restructuring matters for a portfolio of over $60 billion in fixed income securities, officials say.
Guggenheim Partners is an investment and advisory firm with more than $240 billion in assets under management, as of June 30, 2015, and includes consulting services for clients whose assets are valued at approximately $49 billion, officials say.
The firm’s three primary businesses are investment management, investment banking, and insurance services. The firm has 2,500 professionals based in more than 25 offices around the world.
