The Avaloq group, a provider of business process outsourcing (BPO) services, has appointed Dr. Enrico Ardielli as group chief acquisition officer (CAO), according to a company statement.
Ardielli’s previous role as group chief financial officer (CFO) will be taken over by Markus Bertini, who joined Avaloq in May 2014.
The creation of the new position of Group CAO is part of Avaloq’s broader BPO strategy centered around a new Global Processing Network (GPN), to which new business will be added “both organically and through acquisitions,” Avaloq says.
In his new role, Ardielli’s responsibilities will include the successful handling of acquisitions at minimum risk, and he will be a member of the boards of various Avaloq group subsidiaries.
The appointment comes after Ardielli’s 12 year stint as group CFO. Bertini, his successor, previously ran his own consulting and accounting company serving multinational clients and worked as a lecturer at Zurich Business School.
“Thanks to Enrico Ardielli’s extensive knowledge and his great achievements for the Avaloq group so far, I am convinced that the Group CAO position is perfectly filled and that he will further strengthen our business model and group strategy,” says Francisco Fernandez, group CEO of Avaloq in a statement. “At the same time, Markus Bertini’s passion for entrepreneurship and vast financial experience make him the best choice for the Group CFO position.”
