We would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Ron Olmstead. Ron, President and Founder of Boston-based Olmstead Associates, passed away on September 22, 2011, after fighting a hard battle against cancer. For those who never had the privilege of meeting Ron, he was a warm, generous and kind man. He gave me a chance five years ago when I founded FTF and he agreed to offer training courses together. I was a 27 year old entrepreneur and he took the risk of associating his good name with a brand new company. We later expanded our relationship to form our joint annual Performance Measurement Conference. Ron was more than a colleague, however, to the staff here at FTF; he was a good friend that always greeted us with a hug and a smile and took a genuine interest in our lives. Words cannot describe how much FTF will miss Ron, and it’s hard to imagine not seeing his smiling eyes again or hanging out with him at Harry’s for a few drinks after an event.
On a positive note, we are happy to say that Olmstead Associates will continue to operate and his name and good business practice will carry on despite his absence.
Our hearts go out to his wife and children.
