Abacus Group, a provider of hosted IT solutions for hedge funds and private equity funds, has named Brian Lozada to be its director of information security. Lozada, who joins from Condé Nast where he held the same title, will report to Viktor Tadijanovic, Abacus Group’s chief technology officer (CTO).
At Condé Nast, Lozada was responsible for “overseeing the security and risk management for all digital and technology operations,” according to an Abacus statement.
For his new post, Lozada will be responsible for “new Abacus security solutions that help financial institutions to protect their enterprise systems, applications and data from cyber intrusions,” according to the statement.
Prior to Condé Nast, Lozada held technology and information security positions at Sony Music Entertainment, Vonage and Accenture, Abacus notes.
“Brian’s expertise in information security is a huge asset for Abacus at a time in which cyber-security has become a top focus of our clients,” Chris Grandi, Abacus Group CEO, says in the statement. “The introduction of mobile devices and new technology has fueled the need for fund managers to effectively filter and detect malicious activities. Firms need to establish best practices for internal and external communications and reinforce procedures for better data protection.”
