Data Boiler Technologies reports that former Goldman Sachs Executive Director Homer Cheng has joined the firm as chief technology officer (CTO).
At Goldman Sachs, Cheng, who is based in California, “managed business critical applications and was part of the global management team for investment banking technology,” according to a Data Boiler statement. “His areas of expertise include trade analytics, risk management, compliance and operations systems development and implementation.”
Data Boiler, headquartered in Weymouth, Mass., characterizes itself as a solver of data management problems, and specifies that its specialties include Big Data, business re-engineering, product design, predictive analytics, data quality management, enterprise architecture, text mining, pattern recognition, NoSQL, network science, machine learning, signal processing, stochastic model and visualization.
The markets the vendor serves include corporate and investment banks, asset managers, securities processing agents, and wealth management, retirement and insurance companies, officials say.
