DTCC Elects Three New Board Members
The Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. (DTCC) reports that three new members, all senior executives at clearing agencies, have been elected to its board of directors. They are:
- Lester Owens, managing director and global head of wholesale banking operations at JPMorgan;
- Paul Simpson, managing director and global head of equity asset management services at Bank of America Merrill Lynch; and
- And Joseph Weinhoffer, treasurer and chief investment officer of ED&F Man Capital Markets Inc.
The board has 19 directors in all, per the DTCC. “Of these, 12 are representatives of clearing agency participants, three are non-participant directors, two are designated by DTCC’s Series A and Series B preferred shareholders, and the remaining two are DTCC’s chairman of the board and its president and chief executive officer.”
In 2015, DTCC’s subsidiaries processed securities transactions valued at more than $1.5 quadrillion, the corporation notes.
ISDA Adds Three Members to Board
The International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA) reports the election of three new directors to its board. The new directors, who were elected at ISDA’s 31st annual general meeting, held in Tokyo, are:
- John Feeney,head of pricing and conduct coordination, National Australia Bank (NAB), a post he has held since October 2011;
- Benjamin Jacquard,global head of credit, BNP Paribas, where he is responsible for all market-making activities and structured credit activities;
- And Hideo Kitano,managing director, head of credit trading department, head of global markets structuring, Japan, and deputy global head of structured fixed income, Nomura Securities Co., Ltd., which he formally joined in 1998 after beginning his career at Nomura Research Institute in 1993.
ISDA directors re-elected at the meeting include:
- Keith Bailey,managing director, market structure, Barclays;
- Biswarup Chatterjee,global head electronic trading and new business development, credit markets, Citigroup Global Markets;
- Elie El Hayek,managing director, global head of fixed income, HSBC Bank Plc.;
- Diane Genova,general counsel, corporate and regulatory law, JP Morgan Chase & Co.;
- Dixit Joshi,managing director, head of institutional client group – debt, and listed derivatives and markets clearing, Deutsche Bank AG;
- Will Roberts,head of global rates, structured credit trading and counterparty portfolio management, Bank of America Merrill Lynch; and
- Guy Saidenberg,head of EMEA emerging markets trading, global head of securities division sales strats and structuring, Goldman Sachs International.
CFTC Names First Customer Education and Outreach Director
The CFTC reports that Dan Rutherford has joined as its first director of the office of customer education and outreach.
Rutherford joins with nearly two decades of personal finance writing and financial education experience, the agency says in a statement.
Prior to joining the CFTC, Rutherford was part of the group that organized the office of financial education in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), according to the CFTC.
Before joining the CFPB, he was an associate director of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority’s office of investor education. “His work focused on helping older Americans to spot investment fraud and provided them with tools to avoid it,” the CFTC says. “He also assisted military service members and their families by showing them how to effectively manage their income while coping with the financial pressures of deployments and relocations.” In addition, Rutherford is a former editor of Kiplinger.com.
In the statement, CFTC Chairman Timothy Massad salutes Rutherford’s “wealth of experience,” which he calls an “invaluable asset to the CFTC’s work helping consumers make smarter investment decisions and better identify potential fraud.”
SR Labs Names Returnee as Senior Pre-Sales Engineer
SR Labs, LLC, a specialist in enterprise grade market data and trading technology, reports that Kevin Fellows has re-joined the company as a senior pre-sales engineer.
Fellows, who will be based in New York and report to Dave Carson, head of global sales engineering, “brings many years of experience of financial software and information technology to the team with global experience in the design, installation, upgrade, migration and management of large-scale, mission-critical, real-time market data delivery systems,” SR Labs says in a statement.
Most recently, Fellowes served as vice president – technical lead / engineer manager at JP Morgan, “where one of his responsibilities was evaluating next-generation messaging appliances/solutions,” according to the statement.
Other re-joiners over the past year include Dave Carson and Greg O’Hara as development manager, per SR.
