The partnership will enable the Euroclear group to use Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Copilot, Azure A.I., Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Teams.
Euroclear officials report that the company signed a seven-year partnership to use Microsoft Cloud offerings such as Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Copilot, Azure A.I., Microsoft Fabric, and Microsoft Teams to improve the client experience for more than 2,000 financial institutions connected via Euroclear.
The Euroclear group consists of Euroclear Bank, the International CSD, Euroclear Belgium, Euroclear Finland, Euroclear France, Euroclear Nederland, Euroclear Sweden, Euroclear U.K. & International.
“Microsoft will support Euroclear’s strategic ambition in key growth areas like funds and client experience as well as its long-term vision to evolve into a digital and data-enabled financial market infrastructure,” officials say. “By joining forces with Microsoft, Euroclear will be pioneering innovative digital and data-centric initiatives … that bring the best value to industry service providers but also to issuers and investors alike.”
The partnership is “enabling a shift from traditional sequential workflows to an ecosystem-centric capital markets model. This transformation will empower financial institutions to reimagine how they interact, analyze data and deliver insights to end users,” says Ralph Haupter, president, EMEA at Microsoft in a statement.
Officials say the initial scope for 2025 will include the following.
- Developing a financial data-sharing ecosystem;
- Transforming Euroclear FundsPlace via A.I.-driven insights, streamlined operations and increased efficiencies for market participants;
- Modernizing customer engagement via a unified platform “to enhance Euroclear’s customer interactions and streamline operations across all customer-facing business lines;” and
- Strengthening market infrastructure by building a next-generation, secure financial infrastructure with compliance, security and reliability “to support mission-critical workloads.”
