Amy Caruso, Head of Collateral Initiatives, ISDA

Amy Caruso is the Head of Collateral Initiatives at ISDA where she is responsible for developing and delivering a transformational strategy for collateral management, including facilitating innovation and compliance while driving standardization and efficiency. Previously, she served as the Chief Commercial Officer of DTCC-Euroclear GlobalCollateral, focusing on business development efforts for the Margin Transit Utility. Ms. Caruso managed the derivatives reform initiative at Barings, including preparing the company and its parent MassMutual for OTC clearing readiness, ISDA protocols and representations, SEF implementation, and regulatory reporting in multiple jurisdictions. Ms. Caruso was a MassMutual’s Executive Development Program participant, fulfilling various marketing and sales support, product and project management, and compliance roles before transitioning to Barings. Mark Higgins Margin Services, BNY Mellon Markets, EMEA/APAC

Mark Higgins is a senior Product Manager based in London with BNY Mellon Markets. Mark has extensive collateral management experience having previously held a product management position at Lombard Risk Systems. Prior to this, Mark represented UBS across all areas of OTC Collateral Management, including derivatives, repo and securities lending. Mark joined the company in 2008 and is part of a team leading the promotion of Liquidity and Margin solutions available at BNY Mellon. Mark graduated from The University of Central England in Birmingham (UK) with an Honours Degree in Business Management.

Joseph Spiro Director of Product Management, Hazeltree

Joseph Spiro is a Director of Product Management at Hazeltree. He has been part of the Collateral Management industry for over 25 years. Prior to joining Hazeltree, Joseph held the position of US Head Collateral at Société Générale, where he was one of the principal members of the dealer community responsible for ushering in UMR phase 1 in 2016, as well as subsequent phases. Prior to SG, Joseph held leadership positions at Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and BNY Mellon. Joseph has contributed to ISDA and other industry working groups on the topic of collateral management and has been a contributor to ISDA publications in the field of collateral management. At Hazeltree, he is focused on helping Hazeltree’s buy-side clients to improve their collateral management process, to increase efficiency, reduce risk and increase liquidity. Joseph holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Rutgers University, and a Masters in Business Administration from New York University Stern School of Business.

Jaime Madell Partner, Paul Hastings LLP

Jaime Madell is a partner in the Derivatives practice of Paul Hastings and is based in the firm's New York office. Mr. Madell advises clients on a wide range of derivatives and related matters and his practice spans all asset classes and product types, including over-the-counter and exchange-traded transactions in credit, equity, commodity, crypto, energy, interest rate and foreign exchange. In addition to counseling clients on transactional matters, Mr. Madell regularly appears before regulators and advises on questions involving the Dodd-Frank Act, the Investment Company Act, NFA/CFTC registration obligations and exemptions, insurance-related derivatives rules, and securities regulatory matters related to derivatives and hybrid instruments. Before joining Paul Hastings, Mr. Madell was a partner at another international law firm and a managing director responsible for derivatives and related matters at Guggenheim Partners. Mr. Madell has regularly appeared before regulators in an advocacy capacity and often speaks publicly on derivatives matters. He is also a Lecturer-in-Law at the University of Chicago Law School.
