Fonetic, the Madrid-based specialist in voice recognition and linguistics analytics for the financial services sector, has opened Fonetic USA, its New York-based entity.
Fonetic USA, headed by Simon Richards, previously the company’s vice president, global sales and marketing, is now seeking U.S.-based customers for its Fonetic Linguistics voice platform, according to a company statement.
The platform combines “speech recognition with natural language disambiguation” for 79 languages and dialects, officials say. Organizations already using the voice platform include Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) and Santander Group, among others, according to the company.
The voice platform “captures, indexes, analyses and extracts relevant data from all voice, email and chat interactions to detect opportunities for business improvement,” officials say. The detection is intended to help compliance officers improve risk and fraud detection and bolster prevention efforts.
“Fonetic sees the opening of an office in New York as the next logical step toward building on its existing portfolio of business and exploring the tremendous opportunity that exists in the region,” says Richards. “The Fonetic platform brings together speech analytics, sentiment analysis and unstructured data to meet compliance challenges, and transform all trading floor interactions into actionable knowledge.”
The creation of its U.S. entity follows the launch of Fonetic activities in Latin America, led by Monica Rodriquez, global business and marketing director for the Latin American region, the company also points out.
