Misys Hires CFO from Logica
Misys, a provider of banking, treasury, trading and risk solutions, has hired the former chief financial officer (CFO) for Logica, Himanshu Raja, to be its CFO as Misys readies itself for growth, officials say. At Logica, Raja led the sale process that resulted in CGI of Canada acquiring Logica for £1.8 billion ($2.82 billion), officials say. Himanshu’s financial experience includes work in telecommunications, IT and services environments.
Before Logica, Himanshu worked at BT Group for nearly a decade in many divisional finance director roles including CFO of BT Global Services, BT Design, BT Operate and BT Wholesale, officials say. Early in his career, Raja had posts in finance and systems roles at Worldcom International, UUNET and MFS Ltd.
“I look forward to building the business further and continuing to capitalize on the company’s proven track record,” Raja says in a statement.
Misys was acquired less than nine months ago by Vista Equity Partners and merged with Turaz.
Numerix Fills Out Leadership Team
Numerix has filled out its executive management team shortly after the cross-asset analytics vendor for derivatives valuations and risk management announced its promotion of president and chief operating officer (COO) Steven R. O’Hanlon to the post of CEO and president.
Under O’Hanlon, the executive team will focus on increasing operational efficiency, new market opportunities and advance software and quantitative development, officials say.

- Mark Shornick, chief financial officer and executive vice president—finance;
- Joseph Saporito, executive vice president—global direct sales;

Spot Trading Shuffles Execs
Chicago-based proprietary trading firm Spot Trading announced that its founder and CEO Robert D. Merrilees will move up to the newly established role of chairman, officials say. Stephen A. Brodsky, who most recently served as the firm’s CFO, will become CEO. The current finance director and controller Robin McInerney will assume the CFO position. The executive changes will become effective on April 1.
Before founding Spot in 1999, Merrilees was managing director at proprietary trading firm Stafford Trading in Chicago from 1996 to 1998. In addition, he was managing partner at G-Bar Limited Partnership from 1991 to 1995, after joining the firm in 1987.
Brodsky, who became CFO of Spot Trading in November 2010, was a managing director at Vernon & Park Capital from 2008 to 2010. He was also previously the president of CHX Holdings, the parent of the Chicago Stock Exchange (CHX), where he also served as the exchange’s CFO. Prior to joining CHX in 2003 as senior vice president, strategic planning, Brodsky was a vice president in the investment banking department at Mesirow Financial.
Prior to joining Spot in 2009, McInerney served in various roles at R.R. Donnelley beginning in 2001, most recently as the director of accounting, consolidations and external reporting.
Information Mosaic’s Cullen Joins SIFMA Unit
Kevin Cullen, the communications and marketing director for Information Mosaic, has joined SIFMA’s industry leadership committee of its corporate actions section in the operations and technology society. The corporate actions unit is focused on education and best practices for the corporate actions, proxy, and settlement sectors of the financial services industry.
Based in New York, Cullen also serves on the board of the International Securities Association for Institutional Trade Communication (ISITC), a trade group focused on standards in transaction processing and related communications. He is the co-executive sponsor of ISITC’s corporate actions working group and its marketing committee.
