Misys Hires from Oracle for New President
Misys has appointed a former senior vice president and general manager of Oracle Financial Services, Frank Brienzi, to be president and chief sales officer — a new position for the vendor of banking, treasury, trading and risk management solutions. His priority will be to build upon the 31% growth in software revenue that the vendor achieved last year, say Misys officials.
Brienzi, who has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, will run a market strategy for a company that has seen software license sales increase more than 45% in the last three months, Misys officials say. He will oversee sales, pre-sales, account management and marketing.
At Oracle Financial Services, Brienzi ran operations as senior vice president and general manager. He was also a member of the board of directors at Oracle Financial Services Software. Before his time at Oracle, he worked for EDS in its financial services strategic business unit, and at Accenture as a managing partner.
Misys officials say the privately held company has had five consecutive quarters of growth, introduced more than 25 new products since June 2012, and added more than 60 new customers.
BofA ML Names GTS Sales Head for Large Corporates
Bank of America Merrill Lynch has promoted Percy Batliwalla to global head of sales for large corporates and financial institutions in global transaction services, say BofA ML officials.
Batliwalla was most recently head of Asia Pacific GTS sales where he was responsible for sales management and an integrated strategy for GTS clients in the region. He will remain in Singapore and will report to Paul Simpson, head of GTS.
In the new post, Batliwalla will build on the sales strategies established under his predecessor Jennifer Boussuge, who was recently named head of GTS for EMEA, according to bank officials.
Prior to joining BofA ML in May 2010, Batliwall worked at JPMorgan for six years, most recently as head of Asia Pacific financial institutions — banks. His prior experience includes roles in corporate banking, corporate finance, structured trade and corporate audit.
R.J. O’Brien Fills FX Sales Head Post
R.J. O’Brien & Associates, a Chicago-based futures brokerage and clearing firm, has hired Matthew Ardizzone to be its global head of FX sales, say RJO officials. Ardizzone was most recently executive director – FX sales for Nomura Securities in New York.
Ardizzone is charged with growing the firm’s institutional FX presence, particularly among commodity trading advisors, hedge funds and FX portfolio managers, say brokerage officials. He will be expanding operations from RJO’s New York office with plans to grow globally next year. He will report to Phillip Fondren, executive director and head of FX at RJO.
Previously, Ardizzone served for seven years as global head of FX sales at Jefferies Bache (formerly Prudential Bache), based in New York. Prior to joining Prudential in 2005, he was founder and CEO of Aurora Capital Management Ltd. Bermuda. Earlier in his career, he was a senior FX sales/trader at Refco Capital Markets Bermuda. A native of Australia, he began his FX career as a trader at Banque Indosuez in Sydney.
SAP Appoints Global Head for Financial Services Industries
Enterprise resource planning software giant SAP has tapped Ross Wainwright to be global head of financial services industries, responsible for SAP’s banking, insurance and capital markets clients across the globe, say SAP officials.
Based in Chicago, Wainwright will lead a team focused on providing customers with a streamlined customer engagement model, officials say. He will report directly to Simon Paris, global head of strategic industries, who previously held Wainwright’s position.
Previously, Wainwright served as global head of financial services, managing the professional services business, officials say. He oversaw a global team of consultants and sales contributors and engaged with executives from banking and insurance companies. Wainwright also served as chief operating officer of SAP North America. Before joining SAP in 2002, he served in senior software sales management positions in Canada and across the U.S. for Parametric Technology Corp. Dion Global Promotes for Australia and New Zealand MD
Banking software specialist Dion Global Solutions has promoted Rudi Pecker as managing director for Australia and New Zealand, say company officials. Pecker will be overseeing an expansion of Dion’s operations in Australia.
Pecker has been part of Dion’s executive management team since its start, and has been managing Dion’s operations in the US and India, officials say. He has also held senior executive positions across Australia, Asia, Europe and America.
