Commerzbank’s Depotbank Staff May Join BNP Paribas Securities Services
BNP Paribas Securities Services last week acquired Commerzbank’s Depotbank business for German domiciled UCITS and institutional funds, securities funds and open-ended real estate funds and will be giving more than 80 Commerzbank employees involved in those activities the opportunity to join the global custodian bank, officials say.
The deal will allow BNP Paribas Securities Services to consolidate its efforts in the German depositary market, say BNP officials. No further details were revealed and the transaction is still subject to the approval of the relevant authorities.
G2 FinTech Adds to Advisory Board
Tax analysis and compliance software vendor G2 FinTech has added industry veteran Scott Devinsky, a chief financial officer with First Oak Capital Management to its advisory board, say vendor officials. First Oak is one of the vendor’s first set of clients.
“As one of our first clients, Scott has offered invaluable input on TaxGopher’s product direction, and we are delighted he has agreed to continue to share his industry knowledge and experience in concert with our other board members,” says George Michaels, CEO of G2 FinTech, in a statement. As a member of the advisory board, Devinsky will help shape the strategic direction of the company.
AlixPartners Hires from Ernst & Young and Argus Information
IT advisory firm for financial services AlixPartners has hired Michael B. Flynn from Ernst & Young and Edward B. Niestat Argus Information & Advisory Services LLC as managing directors, say officials. They will work in New York with Seth Rosensweig, also a managing director who joined AlixPartners earlier in the year.
At Ernst & Young, Flynn was a partner in the financial-services industry practice where he focused on data-analytics and data-reporting practices, officials say. While at Argus Information & Advisory Services, Niestat was senior managing director and global head of sales and business development at the provider of analytics, information and solutions to consumer banks and credit card companies.
AlixPartners offers technology and information-management advisory services for financial-services clients including commercial and retail banking, investment banking, capital markets, asset management and insurance.
Viewpointe Names VP for Shared Services
Managed services and payments provider Viewpointe has promoted Sean Laurell to senior vice president, shared services, responsible for Viewpointe systems, technology, professional services, application development and project delivery, say vendor officials. Laurell joined Viewpointe in 2012 as vice president of professional services and implementation.
Laurell has more than 20 years of IT experience, including enterprise information management responsibilities, officials say. He will report to Viewpointe president Timothy Coff. Prior to joining Viewpointe, Laurell held multiple positions at Accenture.
Viewpointe offers cloud-based information governance, check archive, end-to-end check image exchange, clearing and settlement and Automated Clearing House association services.
