Online voting begins for the Technology Innovation awards honoring the best in post-trade operations
FTF News, the news service of Financial Technologies Forum (FTF), has just announced the nominees and key dates for the FTF News Technology Innovation Awards 2014.
The submissions for nominees in 22 categories were put forth by industry participants and a panel of judges that ultimately selected the final candidates. Voting upon the nominees began April 17 and will continue until May 9. Winners will be announced May 19 and the awards dinner will be held Monday, June 16.
In addition to recognizing advances in IT systems, applications and services for operations, the awards process recognizes individual achievement.
Individual Nominees
The nominees for Ops Business Person of the Year are: Diana Shapiro, vice president, Citi; Matthew Lyberg, CFA, CIPM, Vice President, Manager, Performance Attribution, Currency Specialist, Acadian Asset Management; Roger Cowie, vice president, J.P. Morgan; Dennis Goodenough, director, industry relations, Volante Technologies; and Cynthia Meyn, executive vice president, operations, PIMCO.
Those up for FinTech Person of the Year are: Bill Stone, CEO, SS&C Technologies; Ram Nagappan, CIO, Pershing; Steven O’Hanlon, president and CEO, Numerix; Marion Leslie, managing director, pricing and reference services, Thomson Reuters; and Steve Marsh, CEO, Smarsh.
The panel of judges for this year’s awards consists of: Maureen Lowe, founder and president, FTF and FTF News; Eugene Grygo, chief content officer, FTF News; John P. Needham, principal, Needham Consulting; Jon Ambos, senior buy-side operations leader, Citi; David Easthope, vice president, market research, Celent; and Chris Pickles, independent consultant and industry veteran.
In addition to the official categories, FTF News will be presenting an Editor’s Choice award to an individual or organization that has advanced financial technology throughout the previous year. The winner or winners in this category will be announced May 19.
The purpose of these awards is to celebrate and recognize the professionals, financial technology vendors, service providers, industry bodies and regulators that have made significant strides and noteworthy achievements in operational excellence during 2013, according to FTF News.
