The pandemic-induced lockdown has challenged all of us to alter our plans and create new ways of doing business.
For FTF, we are evolving and inventing new ways to serve and grow our network of securities professionals that we have developed over the past 14 years.
The good news is that we are trying something very ambitious to better serve you, and we are proudly launching it today: SecOps Online.
Basically, we are transforming the experience of in-person events into new, virtual engagements that we think will be fulfilling and exciting in a different way.
The SecOps Online community includes virtual conference sessions delivered via a live format and via an on-demand service. SecOps Online members will also be able to interact with event sponsors through a chatbot feature so that they can have their questions answered and/or request a meeting via the platform.
We will also be posting exclusive feature stories, case studies, podcasts, Q&As, and related content regularly, and without time limits. This new format will allow you to attend events based on your needs and schedules.
SecOps Online will have live-sessions every three weeks or so, and we have not set an end date for the event series. We will maintain this format for the foreseeable future and attendees can access sessions on demand.
While we are making changes, SecOps Online will be keeping its focus on capital markets and middle- and back-office securities operations. We will cover current and cutting-edge IT management issues, compliance matters, and regulatory enforcement – but within an overriding theme of the digital transformation that is underway across the industry.
Here are teasers about two upcoming sessions:
- Digital Transformation on Steroids? Thursday, December 3 at 10 am EST
Given the new realities of 2020, firms are speeding up their digital transformation plans. This panel will cover the replacement of manual loops and bottlenecks, IT innovations that help firms out of tight spots and jumpstarting change management strategies. The session features; Kevin Urlik, middle office operations, and business strategy consultant — American Century Investments; and Russell Newman, director, head of operations and IT — Rothschild Asset Management. (Check out our chat with Russell via SecOps Online: “IT Infrastructure Is Like an Engine: Q&A.”) I will host this session, and I am looking forward to it.
- Funding the Transformation, Tuesday, December 15 at 10:30 am EST
While the pressure is on, firms are going to have to run the numbers before they decide how big a digital transformation they will have. Some firms may have to hire staff with cutting-edge IT and data science expertise that are essential for a state-of-the-art transformation.
We want you to be a part of this virtual community and to engage in a new experience.
We also are looking ahead to a time when we can add in-person meet-ups. Those will happen as soon as the conditions for them are right.
So, click to the new home page and check it all out.
