GoldPoint Partners, a New York-based private equity manager that was formerly known as New York Life Capital Partners, and that is an affiliate of New York Life Investments, reports that CPA Sean Gelb has joined the firm as chief financial officer.
Gelb will “oversee the day-to-day accounting for the firm and its funds,” GoldPoint says in a statement, noting also that he has “over 17 years of experience in financial services accounting and administration focusing primarily on alternative investments and in particular, private equity funds.”
He joins GoldPoint from Blackstone, where he was senior vice president of private equity tactical opportunities, finance and accounting, GoldPoint says.
Before Blackstone, GoldPoint specifies that Gelb was a “director at SS&C PEI Solutions, where he served as controller for private equity and venture capital fund structures, responsible for close to $10 billion in total assets under management,” officials say.
“Prior to that, Mr. Gelb was a partner at Northport LLC (before the firm was acquired by SS&C PEI Solutions). In his earlier career, he held positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Richard A. Eisner & Company,” officials add.
