Julian Trostinsky Joins Gresham Technologies
Gresham Technologies plc has named Julian Trostinsky, an industry veteran and an ex-Duco vice president, as its new “global director of customer success.”
Gresham is a fintech provider of real-time processes, procedures and reconciliation capabilities that are intended to provide “data integrity and control, banking integration, payments and cash management,” the company says.
Trostinsky will be a key player in “building out Gresham’s consulting practice, managed services, delivery and support capabilities to ensure that its customers’ gain rapid and sustained business value” from the vendor’s efforts, according to a statement.
With almost 25 years of experience working in the financial services industry, Trostinsky joins Gresham from Duco, where he served as vice president for strategy and solutions engineering and “led the build-out of Duco’s global services division,” according to Gresham’s statement.
Prior to that, he was the head of global operations and client services at SmartStream Technologies, where he spent “close to 18 years working with leading financial institutions,” per Gresham. He also developed “reconciliation shared service centers for a number of global financial institutions including Bank of New York Mellon and Citi,” the statement notes.

New Partnership: Citi Securities Services & Snowflake’s Cloud
Snowflake, a newly formed financial technology company offering a “data cloud,” and Citi Securities Services, the custodian business unit of the well-known global bank, report what they characterize as a “strategic initiative to re-imagine how data flows across financial services transactions to provide a frictionless solution for post-trade processes across the industry,” according to their joint statement.
The partnership “brings together Snowflake’s powerful secure data sharing and multi-party permissioning capabilities and Citi’s extensive market expertise with the … proprietary custody network spanning over 60 markets and its … global markets franchise,” which is a “provider-agnostic” cloud environment,” the partners say in their statement.
The statement also notes that Snowflake’s cloud services are available to “banking, insurance, fintech, and investment management customers,” among others.

Flyer Rebrands as Flyer Financial Technologies
A provider of cloud-based trading application vendor, Flyer has launched a brand refresh as Flyer Financial Technologies (FlyerFT) to reflects the evolution of the vendor, officials.
“This update reflects the evolution of the firm, which is increasingly focused on best-in-class portfolio trading GUIs, APIs and connectivity,” says Brian Ross, CEO of Flyer Financial Technologies, in a prepared statement. The vendor has been revamping its offerings for the past six years.
“In conjunction with the refresh, FlyerFT also released several new updates to their cloud-native portfolio trading platform, Co-Pilot. The major platform enhancements include key areas of innovation that focus on multi-account customization and scalable workflows that allow customers to better control their trading experiences and execute their investment strategy faster,” according to the vendor.
The updated platform includes:
- Percentage-Based Trading: for streamlining non-model trading across an account or group of accounts, and have the ability to buy and sell securities to percent-based or value-based targets;
- Pre-Trade Review: for a final check when performing trade operations, including helping users to automatically identify negative cash in accounts, manage compliance issues/trading exceptions, and provide notice of wash sale violations;
- Cash Rebalancing: for rebalancing a portfolio to reach model cash targets
FlyerFT offers portfolio trading tools, connectivity, infrastructure support for wealth management, portfolio trade management, an order management system, and the Flyer Trading Network, officials say. — EMG
Northern Trust Asset Management Picks a New Investment Chief
Northern Trust Asset Management reports that Angelo Manioudakis has been named chief investment officer.
Manioudakis, a 32-year financial-services veteran, was most recently a managing partner with Lantern Harbor Investment Partners, a Boston-based alternative investment firm that he co-founded, according to Northern Trust Asset Management.
Before Lantern Harbor, he was chief investment officer at Fidelity’s Global Asset Allocation division. “While at Fidelity, Manioudakis oversaw improvement in investment performance across approximately $500 billion in assets,” per the statement.
Manioudakis is scheduled to begin his new duties on September 27, 2021.
He will report to Northern Trust Asset Management President Shundrawn Thomas and will chair the firm’s investment policy committee, which “sets investment policy for all Northern Trust groups in all asset classes.”
The firm spotlights the “more than $1.2 trillion in assets under management as of June 30, 2021.”
