Factor analytics vendor Trendrating has hired John Coulter as its new managing director of North America covering sales, marketing and client service, officials say.
In his new role, Coulter will be responsible for “product positioning and driving the company’s North American go-to-market strategy,” according to a company statement. He will report to Rocco Pellegrinelli, Trendrating’s founder and CEO.
With Coulter at the helm of the North American sales team, Trendrating expects “to increase adoption of its momentum model and deepen its penetration into the US market among mutual fund companies, portfolio managers, investment advisors, wealth managers and hedge funds,” the statement says.
“Momentum investing is an area picking up stream with portfolio managers looking to control market risk and outperform their benchmark. We have seen a tremendous amount of success with our proven momentum model over the last two years in Europe with over 100 portfolio managers using our platform,” says Pellegrinelli, in a statement. “We are delighted to have John on board to bring his proven experience across financial technology and data analytics on the US and global markets to support our expansion and strategy.”
Coulter has over 25 years of senior management experience at fintech providers. He has previously served as vice president of global partnerships, QED Division at Thomson Reuters, and earlier was president and chief operating officer (COO) at Javelin Technologies, officials say.
