Mizuho International, a subsidiary of one of the largest financial institutions in Japan, has gone live with a security master application from reference data vendor GoldenSource, officials say.
The deployment of the Securities & Products application follows the investment bank’s January deployment of GoldenSource’s entity master application, dubbed Customers & Counterparties, officials say.
Integrated on a single platform, Mizuho International “is using both products to deliver full reference and counterparty data management in support of the trading, risk and compliance functions of its investment banking business across London,” according to GoldenSource officials.
“As part of a major change in our infrastructure, it was imperative to establish a solid base of customer and securities data,” says Kevin Gage, chief information officer and head of operations at Mizuho International, in a prepared statement. “The two products lay the foundation for the new infrastructure, creating a secure source of standardized information for risk management, regulatory and financial reporting systems,” Gage adds.
“We are keen to see the GoldenSource application as the foundation of the global settlement platform incorporating the database of both global securities and customers,” says Shinobu Yamazaki, global head of operations for the Mizuho Securities Group, in a prepared statement.
Mizuho International plc is the London-based securities and investment banking arm of Mizuho Securities Co., Ltd., part of the Mizuho Financial Group Inc. and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Mizuho Securities UK Holdings Ltd., according to Mizhuo officials.
