MSCI, a provider of investment decision support tools, has named Laurent Seyer as a managing director and global head of client coverage. He will report to Henry Fernandez, MSCI’s chairman and CEO, and be a member of the firm’s executive committee.
Before joining New York-based MSCI, Seyer was global head of the client group at AXA Investment Managers, in Paris, where he previously also served as global head of multi-asset client solutions.
Prior to his time at AXA, Seyer spent 24 years at Société Générale, where he held “senior roles in equity derivatives and structured product sales, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and corporate development and business strategy, culminating in his role as CEO of Lyxor Asset Management from 2006 to 2012,” according to a prepared statement. Lyxor is a wholly owned subsidiary of Société Générale.
Seyer “brings a wealth of experience in building and managing global client coverage teams,” CEO Fernandez says in a statement. “He is also very familiar with the way global investors build and manage their portfolios and bring innovative strategies to market.”
MSCI products and services include indexes, portfolio risk and performance analytics, and environmental, social and governance data and research.
