Electronic trading vendor OptionsCity Software has hired Dan Rooney as its new vice president of global sales, officials say.
Before joining OptionsCity, Rooney was the managing director of sell-side sales at Eze Software, officials say. Before that position, he was the CEO of RealTick EMS, a hosted solution for financial applications. He oversaw RealTick’s expansion in Europe and Asia, including the establishment of a Hong Kong office.
In his new position, Rooney will “lead the company’s global sales force in Chicago, New York and London and be responsible for maintaining and growing the company’s broad client base,” according to a company statement. Rooney will also “bring broad-based industry knowledge to OptionsCity’s leadership team, helping to define and execute the company’s strategic vision,” the statement says.
“With his experience and track record, Dan will help accelerate OptionsCity’s growth and expansion into new international markets, while solidifying our position as the best choice to trade futures and options on futures,” says Hazem Dawani, CEO and cofounder of OptionsCity, in a prepared statement.
