Pyramis Global Advisors, a Fidelity Investments company focused on institutional investors, has appointed Jeff Lagarce president, effective January 1, 2015.
Lagarce, 59, will oversee Pyramis’ investment management and distribution divisions, and will report to Charlie Morrison, president of Fidelity’s asset management organization He succeeds Mike Jones.
Lagarce has more than 30 years of experience in the institutional investment business, Pyramis reports, including 14 years in senior management positions at Fidelity, and four years as president of OFI Institutional Asset Management, a subsidiary of OppenheimerFunds.
He joins Pyramis from Fidelity Worldwide Investment in London, where he served as global head of the institutional business, including defined contribution, for the UK, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
Lagarce’s experience and his “broad and deep understanding” of institutional investors and consultants, “will help us remain focused on meeting the investment needs of our clients,” says Morrison in a statement, which also salutes the “excellent job” the departing Jones did “leading Pyramis’ strategic transformation over the past three years, strengthening its operating model and investment platform for the benefit of our institutional clients.”
