RIMES, a provider of managed data services for the buy-side, has named an Interactive Data Corp. veteran Bob Cumberbatch to be senior vice president, head of product development for reference data services.
Cumberpatch will be based in London and report directly to RIMES CEO Christian Fauvelais.
Prior to joining RIMES, he worked at Interactive Data for 15 years in various posts, including program director, director of business lines and head of regulatory and industry affairs, where he aligned product development with anticipation of financial market regulatory drivers, according to a prepares statement from RIMES.
He also served as a senior consultant for FTSE, advising the firm with its preparations as a regulated benchmark provider, according to the statement.
Increased regulation is the driver motivating “buy-side participants to seek additional knowledge and information in data,” the statement also notes, while spotlighting the company’s reference data services, which allow firms to “maintain control of their data and increase the speed in which they can react to business and regulatory changes.”
Cumberbatch “brings a wealth of knowledge and experience” to market data and developing products to meet regulatory demands, Fauvelais says in the statement, in which Cumberbatch also highlights the “accelerated changes in the financial regulatory landscape and increased need for transparency in the marketplace.”
