One-hundred-year-old R.J. O’Brien & Associates (RJO), which characterizes itself as the oldest and largest independent futures brokerage and clearing firm in the United States, reports that its Canadian affiliate, R.J. O’Brien & Associates Canada Inc. (RJO Canada), established in 2010, has become a clearing member of the Montreal Exchange.
RJO Canada is also a clearing member of ICE Futures Canada, which was established in the nineteenth century as the Winnipeg Grains and Produce Exchange.
“In just a few years, we’ve grown our business exponentially here, and we expect to open our first branch office in Montreal next year,” Keith Riddoch, RJO Canada president and CEO, says in a statement.
Since its launch, RJO Canada has more than doubled its staff and opened offices in Toronto, Winnipeg and Calgary, the company points out.
