SmartStream Names Strategic Account Management Head
SmartStream Technologies, which characterizes itself as a transaction lifecycle management specialist, reports the appointment of Naren Patel to head strategic account management for its Corona business unit, based in London.
Patel will report to Marcus von Rahden, head of sales Europe for Corona, and will be responsible for all aspects of business development and strategic account management in the U.K., Ireland, Scandinavia, Belgium, Netherlands and Israel, SmartStream says in a statement.
Patel’s more than 25 years of experience in the financial technology sector includes posts at Markit, Broadridge, Fiserv and Swift, according to SmartStream, which notes also that he is a “published author having written about global custody operations, specifically clearing and settlement.”
Fiserv Exec Leads Women in Wealth Management Program
Fiserv, Inc., a provider of financial services technology solutions, reports that Cheryl Nash, president of its investment
services, has been appointed to the advisory board of Envestnet Institute On Campus (EIOC) and named executive leader for the institute’s new “women in wealth management” program.
The program is “designed to attract college-age women to wealth management careers in order to increase gender diversity in the industry,” Fiserv says, pointing out that. EOIC’s “goal is to train 5,000 students from multiple academic institutions across the U.S. over the next five years with online courses and training modules.”
The program, expected to include more than 20 universities when it launches in the fall semester, is made possible by Envestnet, Fiserv, the Money Management Institute and Wheelhouse Analytics. Nash will “lead the webinars and will leverage LinkedIn and other social networks to establish deeper connections with the Institute’s participants,” per Fiserv.
Speakerbus Hires Ex-Etrali Sales Manager for Asia-Pac
Speakerbus, a provider of voice solutions for financial, emergency and command sectors, reports that it has hired Danson Lam, previously Etrali’s Hong Kong-based regional sales manager, for its Asia-Pacific new business group. Lam’s new title is regional sales manager, North Asia at Speakerbus.
Speakerbus Ltd., established in 1984, is a privately-owned, specialist communications technology developer and manufacturer, headquartered in the UK, with offices in Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East.
More than 250 financial institutions use its telephony, intercom, speaker and connectivity solutions for unified communications and collaboration needs, the company says.
Misys Fills Key European and North American Posts
Misys, a financial software and systems vendor, reports the appointments of Mourad Ayachi as European head of professional services and Bob Kubala as North American regional sales manager for its investment management division.
Both new employees will support the Misys FusionInvest product suite, a portfolio and risk management system for buy-side firms, Misys says.
Ayachi joins Misys from Murex, where he was program director for Europe and North Africa and a founding member of its professional services business, Misys notes, and Kubala joins from FactSet, where he spent more than 12 years as vice president, sales.
