Sibos to Be In-Person for 2022
The international financial services operations conference known as Sibos, produced by the SWIFT consortium, and slated for October of this year will be a virtual event, officials have confirmed. The conference in 2022 has been slated to be an in-person event.
“The Covid-19 pandemic continues to impact the way people live and work, and while progress is being made toward recovery, much uncertainty remains about the outlook for the virus and the evolution of mobility and travel restrictions this year,” according to an official SWIFT announcement.
“In light of this, and after consulting widely with our customers and partners, SWIFT has taken a decision to keep Sibos a free, digital-only event for 2021 to ensure the safest and best possible experience for the global Sibos community,” officials add.
The online conference, which will run Oct. 11 to 14, “will build on the strength of our first all-digital event in 2020 to drive engagement on key and emerging issues … While we will miss being together in Singapore, we will still keep a focus on content for the community in Asia, with plenty of sessions available in local time zones. We will share news on the conference themes in due course, and details of the registration timeline also will follow soon. We will update www.sibos.com as these plans take shape,” officials say.
The Sibos event for next year will be in Amsterdam from Oct. 10 to 13, officials say.

‘Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS ‘ Launches
Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Red Hat, a provider of enterprise open source software solutions, are releasing Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA), described as “a new managed service available via the AWS Console that makes it easier for Red Hat OpenShift customers to build, scale, and manage containerized applications on AWS,” officials say.
The joint release says that ROSA offer “more simplified Kubernetes cluster creation using the familiar Red Hat OpenShift console, features, and tooling without the burden of manually scaling and managing the underlying infrastructure,” officials say.
The ROSA offering “streamlines moving on-premises Red Hat OpenShift workloads to AWS, and offers a tighter integration with other AWS services,” officials say.
“ROSA also enables customers to access Red Hat OpenShift with billing and support directly through AWS, delivering the simplicity of a single-vendor experience to customers running Red Hat OpenShift on AWS. There are no up-front investments required to use ROSA, and customers pay only for the container clusters and nodes used,” officials add.
