Toronto-based asset manager EdgePoint Investment Group (EdgePoint) has gone live with the hosted Investment Management Solution (IMS) from vendor Charles River to support its increasing trade volumes and business growth, say vendor and firm officials.
The deployment will help the firm replace several platforms including the consolidation of order and execution management systems, officials say.
A front- and middle-office investment management solution provider, Charles River says that EdgePoint users “now have a single, fully managed solution for portfolio management, trading and compliance across its domestic and international equity and fixed income operations,” according to Charles River. EdgePoint will also be using Charles River’s broker neutral FIX network for global electronic trading, say vendor officials.
“With Charles River’s flexible decision support tools, we’ve been able to increase productivity so our portfolio managers and traders can create and place trades more easily, saving time and improving execution,” said Craig Donoff, head trader at EdgePoint, in a prepared statement. The firm has “increased efficiencies and reduced our compliance risk throughout the investment management process. Since Charles River hosts and manages the application day-to-day, we can respond more quickly to investor and market demands, further fulfilling our best execution obligations.”
EdgePoint Investment Group is the portfolio advisor for EdgePoint Wealth, an independent Canadian investment management firm that is owned and operated by investors whose goal is to build long-term wealth.
