Trax, a provider of regulatory transaction reporting, financial market data and trade matching services for European securities markets, and a wholly owned subsidiary of MarketAxess Holdings, has named Chris Smith head of post-trade services, and Kevin Swann head of data.
Smith, an industry veteran, joins Trax from NYSE Euronext, where he was responsible for the firm’s commercial market program, according to a company statement, which also notes that, prior to NYSE, he was at NYFIX, and before that, he was responsible for European post-trade, straight through processing services at Tradeweb. He also has held senior post-trade posts at Fidelity Investments and Thomson Financial ESG (now Omgeo).
As head of post-trade services for Trax, Smith is responsible for the expansion and strategic direction of the firm’s post-trade solutions, according to a company statement.
Swann, another industry veteran, joins Trax from Thomson Reuters, where he was head of third-party broker data. His previous senior posts were at DirectFN, Tradeweb and Bloomberg, according to the company statement.
At Trax, Swann is responsible for the development and commercial direction of data products.
“Since MarketAxess’ acquisition of Xtrakter last year, we have been focused on strengthening our European offerings to provide a comprehensive suite of solutions for trade execution, market and reference data, and post-trade services,” Rick McVey, CEO of MarketAxess Holdings Inc., says in the company statement. He also notes that Smith and Swann “will help drive the continued development of innovative data and post-trade solutions for our clients under the reinvigorated Trax brand.”
