Professional services vendor Wolters Kluwer has hired Paul Lyon from Daiwa Capital Markets, the investment banking arm of Japan’s Daiwa Securities Group, to fill the newly created role of director of corporate communications for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), officials say.
Lyon will be based in London and asked to “develop and execute comprehensive communications plans that strengthen the Wolters Kluwer brand in the EMEA region,” according to a company statement. He will be responsible for all public relations activities, internal communications matters and analyst relations within his area of operation.
Lyon has 15 years of experience in the financial services industry, and previously held senior communications and marketing positions at major banks.
At Daiwa Capital Markets, Lyon was the executive director and head of communication and marketing, officials say. Before that post, he was head of key media, communication and marketing for the Royal Bank of Scotland’s investment banking business.
